FastHostNow

Host-move planner

Move your website.
Miss nothing.

Tell FastHostNow when you want to switch hosts and how your DNS is set up. It writes a dated, step-by-step plan in your time zone: when to lower the TTL, when to freeze changes, what to check after the switch, when your mail is safe and when you can cancel the old host.

Free to plan, as often as you like. Move Pass $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year for a desk of saved moves with notes and a calendar file. Free during preview.

What it catches

The four ways a host move usually goes wrong

Every plan checks what you entered against these, and says so in plain words before you switch.

01

The TTL was lowered too late

Resolvers remember your old address for as long as the record's TTL says. With a 1-day TTL, lowering it the night before is not enough. The plan works out the deadline, and if it has passed, the earliest clean switch time.

02

Email quietly stops

A new host's default DNS zone often has no MX, SPF or DKIM records for mail that lives at Google or Microsoft. The plan adds the check, and for mailboxes that move, a final catch-up 72 hours after the switch.

03

Orders land on the old server

Copy a shop's database at 10 PM, switch at 11, and every order in between is gone. The plan schedules a freeze and a final copy right before the switch, and warns when a shop switches in busy hours.

04

The old host is cancelled too soon

After a nameserver change some visitors use the old DNS for up to 48 hours. The plan keeps the old account 7 or 14 days, depending on what moved, with one last backup before you cancel.

How it works

Three minutes of questions, one plan you can follow

  1. 1

    Tell it the move

Switch date and time, your TTL, A record or nameservers, the kind of site, where email lives. A guess is fine for size.

  2. 2

    Get a dated plan

Every step with its date and time in your zone, counted down from the switch (T-7d to T+14d), and the risks for your setup.

  3. 3

    Tick it off

Save it to a Move Desk (private link, no account) and mark steps done. Move Pass adds notes, a calendar file and CSV.

What FastHostNow is not

  • Not a host. It does not sell or recommend hosting plans, and earns nothing from any host.
  • Not a checker. It never looks up, logs in to or changes your DNS, servers or registrar. You make every change.
  • Not a person. No one reviews your plan. The rules behind it are on How a move works.
